Michael Butler

Michael ButlerMichael is a graduate of California State University at Long Beach. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education/ Athletic Training in 1991. He currently holds a license as a Physical Therapist Assistant, Certifications through the C.H.E.K Institute as a level three practitioner,Active Release Soft Tissue Management, Paul St Johns Neuromuscular Therapy and as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He also holds certifications in Sports Nutrition, Metabolic Typing and is certified as a First Aid/CPR and AED instructor through American Red Cross.

Michael has been in the health care field industry for the past 20 years. He has been educated by some of the world’s            finest physical therapists, strength coaches and chiropractors. By surrounding himself with creative and innovative health professionals, Michael’s approach to program design assures his clients the very best in health and wellness. He was former director at Rancho Physical Therapy in Palm Desert, where he has rehabilitated and trained athletes from all disciplines and has directed conditioning camps here in the valley for the past 9 years. Through his Swingfit program he has trained golfers both at the professional and amateur levels, and offered seminars in the prevention of golf injuries. Michael has written weekly golf conditioning articles for The Desert Sun, and for Golf News. he recently has produced two DVD’s on Volleyball and Golf wellness.

Michael sees the need to helping the youth reach their fitness/ wellness goals and to offer a high caliber of functional training skills to the athlete in the pursuit of reaching the next level, whether it be a division1 scholarship, or reaching the professional level in their sport.

Michael has been committed to his field for the past 25 years and is a strong supporter in the community offering his services to the American Cancer Society, Arthritis Foundation, Desert United Youth Soccer, Palms to Pines Rotary, Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce and the National Sports Wheel Chair Society.

Susan Butler

Susan ButlerSusan has been a licensed massage therapist for over twenty years. She started doing massage as an adolescent on family members then worked for a physical therapist at a young age. Patients in the office inspired her to pursue the massage and medical fields.

Her background includes working with professional athletes, corporate executives, pediatric and geriatric clients.

Her style of work is an integrated approach. Combining Neuromuscular Therapy, Active Release Technique, Deep Tissue combined with manual stretching. Speciality massages are available such as Manual Lymphatic Drainage, reflexology, maternity massage and chair massage.

Twelve years ago she was the founder of Body Workers. Her company worked directly with corporate offices through their wellness programs to relieve stress at their site. Her clients consisted of Mattel, The Getty, Amgen, Xerox, Toyota, Nissan, Isuzu and Office Depot.

She loves her work and feels very fortunate that she can work in a field helping others get well.

She offers her work to you without an “a la carte” fee breakdown, you can be assured you will receive exactly what your body needs everytime you have a session.

Satoko Hata “Sachi”

SachiSachi is a graduate of DRSS. Coming to us with a wide background of training, she has spent the last five years of her practice mostly working in a private setting. She has assisted us in our corporate golf events and we have received positive feedback regarding her style of work.

We are delighted with her professional yet caring demeanor. Sachi is intuitive, a very good listener, and will give each individual client exactly what he or she needs and prefers, whether a light relaxing touch or deep therapeutic work. Most important is that Sachi is gifted with an intuitive touch that cannot be taught but marks the difference between an average massage and a spectacular massage.

Sachi is a member of ABMP (Associated Bodyworkers & Massage Professionals) This means that her level of education is high and is maintained with continuing education to remain current.

Mike Walsh

MikeMike received his bachelor of science in exercise science from Humboldt State University in 1999. Mike played soccer for Humboldt from 1994 until 1999. In 1994 he was a member of the squad that won the first conference championship for Humboldt and in 1999 Mike was an Academic All American. While at Humboldt Mike spent 3 years serving as an assistant strength coach, designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for Humboldt’s athletic teams. He also worked in the Human Performance Lab conducting treadmill and EKG testing, fitness assessments and body composition testing. While Mike was playing soccer in college he coached summer soccer camps for No.1 Goalkeeper and Striker Camp.

After teaching at the high school level for 4 years, where Mike coached boy’s soccer and assisted with strength and conditioning programs, he returned to Humboldt State for his masters degree. While in graduate school Mike worked as an assistant strength coach, and he taught in the health and physical education department at Humboldt and College of the Redwoods.

Currently Mike teaches physical education in the Desert Sands School District and has worked for Kinetix for the past two years. He has assisted in our summer conditioning camps and taught Olympic style weight lifting and vertimax classes. Mike is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach.

Mike enjoys working with athletes of all ages to improve athleticism and general fitness. Mike believes in functional training not only to improve athletic performance but also to improve quality of life. He has been involved in strength and conditioning for over 10 years.

Kim Spates

KimKim is a C.H.E.K., Holistic Lifestyle Coach; a Certified Personal Trainer; and a Certified Nutrition & Wellness Consultant. Kim’s approach to health and fitness integrates your mind and emotions to bring “quality awareness” into your lifestyle. Many health related problems today can be reversed when the treatment program is taken as a whole for each person. Holistic health care is about responsible health, care that is working fully with the whole person’s Body, Mind, and Spirit.

She actively supports her clients with the tools necessary to achieve “Eat, Move and Be Healthy”, a dietary program designed to work with long-term results. She uses Metabolic Typing as a source to address your specific dietary needs. Topic related issues include; Sleep, Digestion, What and When You Eat, Stress Management, and Detoxification. She wants to work with you until you have achieved vitality , a quality of life worth regaining!

Kim is blessed to work with the professionals on staff that encourages all clients to feel and look their best.

Lindsay Castle

LindsayLindsay is a graduate of California Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. She received a Master of Science in Kinesiology in Sport Management from California Baptist University in 2006. While at California Baptist University, Lindsay played basketball and was an Academic All-American.

Lindsay is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is a certified Nutrition Coach and certified in CPR and AED. She also has experience teaching Mat Pilates, Spinning, Body Sculpt, Fitball, and Aqua Aerobics.

Lindsay is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of youth and adults of all ages. She feels fortunate for the opportunity to help others reach their personal goals and enjoy a better quality of life.

Temple Swensen

TempleTemple is a graduate of California State University San Bernardino with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development with a Minor in Child Development.

Temple has over 20 years of health and wellness experience. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through American Fitness Association of America. She also holds a certification as a Nutrition Coach and is CPR/AED certified.

Currently, she teaches individual Pilates Mat/Reformer sessions as well as group exercise instruction in Mat Pilates, Spinning, Body Sculpt, and Physioball classes. Temple also has experience in coordinating and developing fitness programs for individuals and corporate groups.

Temple has been a volunteer facilitator for Angel Light Academy a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to teaching leadership to community youth. As a health professional, she is able to teach teambuilding, problem solving, and service through health and fitness activities. Temple is dedicated to assisting the youth in the community to become the best they can be.

Temple is passionate about health. She feels very fortunate to be in the health and fitness industry so she can assist individuals in living healthier lifestyles.

Her specialties include: Adult and Youth Fitness, Individual/Group Training, Body Fat Testing, Program Design, Nutrition Coaching, Pilates Mat/ Reformer Training.
